# Busting 4 Common Myths About Carbon Credits and Carbon Programs

In this quick video, we bust 4 commonly held misconceptions about carbon credit programs. We share honest carbon credit facts and discuss benefits of the LandYield program.
## Myth #1: "Carbon Credits are only for large landowners."
LandYield can provide meaningful revenue to forest owners with as little as 40 acres.
## Myth #2: "I've heard that joining a carbon program can lock you into a rigid contract."
At LandYield, we really try to get to know landowners and work with them to understand their long-term goals before signing a contract. We try to understand what you want to do over the next 20 to 40 years on your property and design a project accordingly.
## Myth #3: "I've heard the carbon market is like the Wild West."
Carbon markets have been evolving for over 20 years now. Standard bodies like the American Carbon Registry have worked with scientists for years to come up with really robust methodologies that ensure carbon credits are high integrity and have real climate impacts.
## Myth #4: "I've heard that some carbon projects just pay landowners to do what they would have done anyway with their land."
